Outside the Lines with Exquisite Weddings Magazine

Amorology

What's black and white and pretty all over? Give up?!  Our Exquisite Weddings Magazine cover shoot!! We haven't stopped pouring though the gorgeous images from Ashley Kelemen and thought we would share a little more of our behind the scenes inspo of what went into this fun day before taking things to print!

Feeling so honored to have been asked by the Magazine to collaborate on their main feature, we really wanted to create something special for them and their readers that felt elevated yet modern and unlike anything they had done before.   For us, our design usually begins with a concept or some type of golden nugget of inspiration!  That inspiration can come from anywhere and sometimes it can be the smallest of things that can grow into varying levels of interest.  For this shoot in particular we were Inspired by a simple clean grid pattern that would lend itself to all the nitty griddy details and makings for a beautiful editorial spread!  We teamed up with some of our favorite vendors in the industry to help pull our vision together and began by pairing stark, modern black and white contrast with soft romantic elements of spring! The invitation suite was designed by Miss Multee and was the perfect compliment to the overall design with hand lettering and modern calligraphy. Veering from the traditional, we pulled gowns with texture and clean lines from both The Dress Theory and BHLDN as well as accesories from Marrow Fine Jewelry, Trumpet and Horn and Melinda Rose that would play against the custom grid backdrop we had Back Up create for us .  Layered Vintage did her thing and spread flower love over the backdrop and onto the table top and the results were gorgeous!  Stunning hair and make-up was done on our model by KC Witcamp with Hello Birdie Nail Salon accenting her finger nails in none other than a grid pattern, taking our look from head to tips! :)

We also asked Hey They Cupcake! to create a showpiece designed around our concept and she offered up the perfect blush geometric inspired cake that incorporated our playful use of lines.    Our unique tabletop pieces were pulled from Hostess Haven's extensive collection, with drinks by Baron.  To keep up with the mix between modern and romantic, we pulled furniture pieces from Adore Folklore that had a little bit of both and designed a lounge area that was just begging to be enjoyed!

All of our images from this amazing creative adventure were captured by Ashely Kelemen.   Can't thank our team enough for all of their beautiful efforts to bring this one together with us!

Wreath Workshop

Amorology

Happy December!! We're gearing up for the holidays over here and looking back on last year when we had so much fun collaborating as friends and vendors as we came together for this wreath workshop right in time for the holidays, and hoping it'll give you some inspiration for the upcoming season! In a palette of evergreens, gold, black and a dash of red, we styled the workshop with a bit of whimsy to give our attendees a feeling of being in the woods where they could pull pine boughs from among the woodland animals.

Those who attended were given their very own toolbox that they picked up upon arrival at the tools and trimmings wall. Their box contained all the fun supplies needed for the evening such as wire, clippers, etc. with a side of homemade banana bread to take home. They were also treated to a yummy dinner of comfort foods like butternut squash soup and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches by MIHO as Sarah from Catalina Neal shared all her tips on how to create a less traditional take on a more modern organic wreath. So excited Michael Radford was with us too to shoot all these gorgeous images! We loved seeing each of the beautiful creations that came out of the evening! Such a warm and memorable night to gather with old and new friends!

In the Media: Sharing the Love

Amorology

Sit back, relax, and prepare to swoon as we re-cap some our favorite media mentions!

Looking to add some pretty to your Instagram feed?  We've got the solution, be sure to follow Martha Stewart Weddings! This week she shared some love for our maritime wedding and how we brought our sweet couple's favorite song lyrics to life with this amazing backdrop!

Green Wedding Shoes had our number when they shared Aman + Sonu's wedding day full of vibrant colors, retro details, and sweet surprises!  We think it's a perfect time to take a little break from all the red and green and check out all the pretty on their site!

If all this chilly weather has got you craving some sun, head over to HOORAY! Magazine and take a scroll through our sweet couple Brandi + Tim's sunny, island inspired wedding at Rancho Valencia

Baby it's cold outside so snuggle up by the fire with a warm cup of hot chocolate (with plenty of marshmallows) and the most recent edition of The Knot where our darling couple Carlie + Nate's wedding was named one of the Top 15 Weddings of the year!

We were feeling double the love when Love Inc. Mag and Wedding Wire shared all of the pretty details from Katie + Brian's special day!  Only a couple as sweet as these two could keep Palm Springs, a city known for it's sun and heat, oh so cool!
