Real Wedding: Minda + Lance

Here at Amorology, we're firm believers in the saying, "time flies when you're having fun", and boy do we know how to have some fun! 

Now, all of this talk of fun has got us looking back to Minda and Lance's wedding; one year ago today we were preparing to head out for their wedding! For this playful couple we gave Golidlocks' cabin a mid-century modern vibe with vibrant glassware, vintage plates, and furniture from Folklore Vintage Rentals, table top rentals from Hostess Haven, and gorgeous florals from Sarah Neal of L&S Design Co.

When it came to designing their color palette we went with colors that were warm and inviting and had guests feeling like they were sitting by the fire in a cozy cabin.  Deep shades of orange mixed with soft shades of brown and just the right amount of magenta, yellow, and teal set the tone for our couple's wedding day. 

The reception began with guests scooping up their table assignments from wooden spoons laid out in a bed of oats complete with a little bit of Twinkle & Toast's calligraphy magic. Unlike Goldilocks' bears, ours made sure not to miss out on Minda and Lance's story!  Thanks to the oh so talented Peanut Press Creative these little guests made special appearances throughout the reception space; from the wooden table numbers to the cocktail stirers they didn't miss a beat! 

Friends and family danced the night away as Flashdance spun records, and with cakes from Hey there, Cupcake! and Extraordinary Desserts; everyone got a piece that was just right!

What's In Our File: Lori + Jon

We're gearing up and getting ready for this weekend when our adorable couple Lori and Jon embark on their greatest adventure as they say "I do!" at the Estancia in La Jolla, California.

Lori and Jon share a love for all things retro with just a bit of modern vibes, and Wes Anderson's signature quirky style. When it came to planning this daring duo's special day; we were inspired by their unique sense of style, everyday loves, and darling engagement shoot.

For Lori and Jon's wedding day, get ready for shades of deep marsala, pops of blush and red, with just a hint of mustard yellow and lovely dark green. We'll be incorporating eclectic patterns with elements of fun as we create Lori and Jon's own 'Moonrise Kingdom' where they'll dance the night away with those they love, under twinkly lights similar to the stars they first fell in love under.

Real Wedding: Katie + Brian

We are so thrilled to share our dear Switched at Birth star, Katie LeClerc, and her sweet hubby Brian's colorful Palm Springs wedding featured on Martha Stewart today! This one was nothing short of amazing and we are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to let our imaginations run wild with an awesome team of vendors and such a fun couple. A huge thanks to Gideon Photo for the beautiful images!

We teamed up with Backup Backdrops to create three fun displays for ceremony, escort and dessert. Our simple ceremony wall with Plexiglas arrows alluded to our couple's love of cycling and the idea of sharing the road together. Inspired by their love for playing Cards Against Humanity, we couldn't help but make a "Katie and Brian Against Humanity" escort display! We had Peanut Press help us design and create oversized playing cards that served as the table names and had fill in the blank statements. Smaller playing cards were placed at our escort wall and held the guests names on one side and a noun listed on the other side. Guests were invited to find their table by pairing their card with the best matched table name. How fun is that? It was such a great way to get guests moving, talking and laughing at their seats! For dessert, we collaborated with Hey There Cupcake and Backup Backdrops again to display an array of yummy treats underneath a bicycle backdrop as another nod to Katie and Brian's love for biking together. 

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed Cactus Coolers, colorful popsicles from Si Paletas and delicious bites from Room Forty. The popsicles were a life saver during the hot summer weather in Palm Springs!

For the head dining table, we created a custom table runner hand painted by Peanut Press and adorned with living fruit and florals by Twigg Botanicals. And the mid-century tables from Folklore Vintage Rentals were a perfect match for the tabletop prettiness from Hostess Haven. Bicycle shaped save-the-dates from Pitbulls and Posies tied our cycling theme together and were complimented by bright, geometric custom stationary by Peanut Press.

We're getting warm all over just thinking back to Katie and Brian's fun Palm Springs Wedding! We know many more adventures are in store for these two. Wishing them a lifetime of fun and a marriage as bright and happy as their wedding day!
